FIRST Robotics Competition
I have been a part of my school's FIRST Robotics Competition Team, 610 - Crescent Coyotes for the past 2 years. My role on the team is to design and manufacture various parts and to construct said parts into a robot.
Through my experience on the team I have learned to:
-
Use Fusion 360 and SOLIDWORKS to 3D-model complex parts and systems CAD
-
Operate an industrial level machinery such as CNC routers/mills and appropriate CAM software, lathes, hack saws, milling machines, and drill presses.
-
Maintain mechanical and electrical systems as a part of the robot pit crew, making sure that all components were properly functioning during competitions
As robotics is my deepest passion, being able to participate in the highest level of high school robotics, and in such a friendly, co-operative environment, has allowed me to learn an extraordinary amount and stoke my passion even more.
In the most recent year I was assigned to be Head of Design and Manufacturing for the team. Although the official season has not started yet, I am excited to lead my team and to spread my knowledge and passion for robotics with new, incoming members.
